How to make sure your DL are operating tool qualified? We have a standard answer is certify. What is certify? in our company it means a DL get a license to operate a specific tool/equipment. The more certifies he/she got means he/she with more skill in company.

Low WIP activities
Sorry for my long time no update. As my last article, I am so busy to learn how to do my boss's job right now.
Today I have a little free time, and I will shear my project in recently. My company are not in a good situation right now, due to our products are not meet customer request and have some performance issues. And we change a Chairman and General Managers in less season. New boss always have a lot of suggestions like you never do the right thing right.

How to build a MES?
If you or your company want to build a MES (Manufacturing Execution System), it's a big job can't do it by your self. And you may co-work with vendors and consultants to do it. The customize fee is charge by working hours. If you have a sample concept for MES, and you will less working time for these common sense discussions.
I had have build 3 MES for 3 companies, but all of them are LED industrial, and very different manage way their are.
What is MES?
A manufacturing execution system (MES) is a control system for managing and monitoring work-in-process on a factory floor. An MES keeps track of all manufacturing information in real time, receiving up-to-the-minute data from robots, machine monitors and employees. Although manufacturing execution systems used to operate as self-contained systems, they are increasingly being integrated with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software suites. The goal of a manufacturing execution system is to improve productivity and reduce cycle-time, the total time to produce an order. By integrating an MES with ERP software, factory managers can be proactive about ensuring the delivery of quality products in a timely, cost-effective manner.
The MES must cost effectively meet the business criteria.
1.improve manufacturing processes and quality.
2.Reduce IT involving and low build and maintenance cost.
3. Easy support the production line future growth or development.
4. Integrate with other critical systems in company, ex. ERP.
5.Readily and rapidly adapt FAB un-schedule change in production cycle in business.

Common Used Report in Manufacturing--MFG indices Daily Summary Report
FAB plan /operation Report and System as the picture shows in below.
工廠內的計畫/運作報表及系統如同下圖所示:
All the Manufacturing Plan are comes form MPS ( Master Production Schedule) and FAB cycle time plan, and MPC (Manufacturing PC) will generate a FAB daily operation plan daily.
所有的製造計畫都來自於主排程以及工廠內的生產週期計畫,製造部的PC將會把主排程的目標拆解成每天的執行計畫.

MFG common used moniter indices
I introduce whole company's manufacturing indices in last article. I will introduce the common used monitor indices in manufacturing. These indices include WIP, Move, Turn Rate (T/R), WPH and available/non-available time.

Manufacturing KPI (Key Performance Indices)
The KPI is a normal term in your career path, which was used to monitor the daily working performance and status by these KPI. If you are sales your KPI will be how many goods you sale. And test score is your KPI if you are a student.
This article will introduce manufacturing terms, such as Wafer out, CLIP, CVP, FAB yield indices, etc. These indices/terms are daily communication terms in manufacturing. These terms you can find definitions in your text book, I will try to add some actual cases in our FAB.
KPI (關鍵績效指標) 在職涯中是一個很常用/很常見的名詞. 這個指標可以用來衡量工作的表現. 如果你今天是業務員,那麼賣了多少東西就是你的KPI, 如果你是學生,那考試成績就是你的KPI. 本文將會介紹一些製造部常用的名詞,例如 產出,CLIP,CVP, 工廠良率,WIP (在製品), 週轉率,, 製造循環時間等. 這些名詞都是製造部日常溝通的用語.這些名詞你可以找到教科書上的定義,但是我試著介紹在工廠內是如何使用這些名詞或KPI的方式在本文中介紹.

I will start to write some article about manufacturing.
Hi All,
I am CW Hsiao, you can call me Pigo. I have manufacturing experience about 13 years until now. I have worked in TSMC (the biggest IC foundry in the world) MFG dept about 5 years, and EPI star (the biggest LED dice fabrication company in the world) MFG and QC dept about 5 years. And I work for LED MFG Dept now.
I want to leave some experience memos and notes for all the guys who needed.
I plan one article each week, there are too many things can be write. I believe there are a lot of books for manufacturing field. But I will try to use my personal experience and knowledge to explain the manufacturing in my eyes.
The Blog will include the execution side, people management, FAB control, QC concept and all you can imaging. You can tell me what you want to know, and I will try to write it out.
The first article I want to write is about FAB KPI (Key Performance Indices). English is not my mother language, maybe a lot of mistake I will made, pls feel free let me know. Thanks for your watching. See you soon.

製造的領域是很大的,我想應該會涉及製造執行,人員管理,工廠管理,品保概念等,你可以想見的各種Topic 我都會提及. 如果有人需要我先寫哪些內容,也可以告訴我,我會試著從我的想法出發,寫一些簡單的看法.
第一個部份我想我會寫的是製造相關的KPI以及Terms, 在這邊我會盡量使用中文跟英文各寫一遍,我的英文不是很好,可能會寫得二二六六的,請大家給我意見囉! 不過練習應該就會進步吧??我是這樣想的!!
