KER--- Key Equipment Report

The next report, I want to introduce KER to you. This report is provided another view of point with KSR. it look like below picture.
This report is I create for a LED FAB.

KER is a report for the key equipment, It shows that how many WIP, Move, Waiting time for the tool. It will very useful for manager to handle the tool status. When you see the WIP are concentrate in one tool, it means you have trouble in this tool. And we will check the tool move is normal or not. And you can get fouse on it.

If you are good at this report, you may handle whole line by it.

Column 1 is location, we will put the same function tools in to one area, such as etching tool are all do the remove material function, Photo tool are all for photo process like coater, developer, stepper.  We will put them together and name it as the nick name.
WB : Wet Bench, DET: Die Engineer Test, TF : Thine film, PH: Photo.

The second column is capability, in Promise system they use capability to describe what the tool can do. In IC industrial one tool will have different capability. Ex. Ti/W etcher also have capability to do Al etcher. We split it as different items for management.

Column 3 shows the Chinese name for the operators.

Column 4 is demand, it's comes from MPS. MPC will compute the daily demand by MPS. It will tell you the loading ratio.

Column 5 is capacity, how much move can be provide by this tool daily. It comes from IE, Normal the capacity is compute by IE. IE will consider tool available time, operator operation efficiency to generate this number. But it always higher than MFG real number, dut to MFG have a lot of trouble in line, and IE is a theoretical number. MFG's job is limited the gab between them.  MFG need  to provide the constrain to IE, include ENG request more monitor or the operation condition changed. And we plan the output is follow this number.

The next column is CWIP (Current WIP), it means how many wafer is line up before the tool. It show the tool loading. When I saw the number and I will compare with the capacity. if the CWIP are twice than the capacity, it say Hey, there are some trouble here. And we will plan another capacity for it, such as out sourcing, change process (if possible), transfer more tool into this stage or sending more operation to help.

Column 7 is moves in today (from AM7:20), I use this to linear forecast daily move, as I wrote in KSR, you can reference it. I just to watch the move can be fulfill WIP demand and reach the capacity plan.

Column 8 is RWIP, it is a short term as Running WIP. the wafer are processing by tool right now. I usually check this number when the tool is bottleneck or in high WIP status. If the tool is bottleneck or in high WIP status, the RWIP can't be zero. MFG need to full utilize it, to reduce the high WIP or prevent the WIP stock in this tool. It's useful index for review line operator are doing their job well.

The next column is the same team with RWIP, it is RTime, Running Time. I use this one to check the operator operate the tool timely. especial the tool is bottleneck tool. If the process time is 10min/wafer, RWIP is 5 pcs. When I see the RTime large than 50 minutes, it means the operator did not move the wafer in time.

The left other columns are the same concept with RWIP/RTIME, it's QWIP/QTime, HWIP/HTIME. they means how many wafer are wait or hold, and how many time these wafers are in this status.

KER is a very good tool, and corporate with KSR, it's a most important tool in FAB. On-line supervisor need to check them every hour to make sure the line are move to the place what you want.
